Laura Kapp was inducted into Xi Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa on April 10, 2009.

Individuals are invited to membership in this largest of education honor societies on the basis of high academic achievement, worthy ideals and evidence of leadership attributes.

Kapp is the daughter of Fred and Karen Kapp.

Meanwhile, Heather Lynn Sissel of Calera was recently inducted into the Beta Lambda Delta Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at Jefferson State Community College.

Sissel, a nursing major, is the daughter of Frances Burch and Dr. Louis Burch of Calera, and Redlands, Calif., and is married to Jason Sissel of Calera.
