North Shelby burglary suspect identified

The man who allegedly burglarized a North Shelby residence on Monday has been identified as 18-year-old Timothy McMillan III of Birmingham, according to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies arrested McMillan at 2:42 p.m. Monday after he allegedly fled from a residence in the 2600 block of Buttewoods Drive.

McMillan is charged with burglary third-degree, theft of property third-degree, unlawful possession of marijuana first-degree, and unlawful breaking and entering of a vehicle. He is being held in the Shelby County Jail on bonds totaling $46,000.

A search warrant was issued for a residence in the 4800 block of Caldwell Mill Road Monday night. Several missing items related to recent burglaries in the area were recovered. Marijuana plants were also seized.

The case remains under investigation.
