House for a Cure open house June 28
Jim ‘N Nick’s Bar-BQ Alabaster is sponsoring an open house Sunday, June 28 from noon-3 p.m. for the House for a Cure fund-raiser.
U.S. soldier Branch Dildine and his wife are raffling their three-bedroom, two-bathroom house at 208 Cove Place in Pelham to benefit the Mississippi Chapter Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
The raffle will be held Tuesday, June 30 after 5 p.m.
Tickets can be purchased for $100 each.
If the Dildines don’t sell 2,500 tickets by June 30, the fund-raiser will be extended by three months.
Branch Dildine, who has been reassigned to an active duty unit in Vicksburg, Miss., said the society’s donations are down this year due to the economy. Without donations, funding for cancer research projects take a hit. The fewer cancer research projects, the longer it takes to find a cure.
For more information, call Dildine at 601-862-2892, Melinda Smalley at 601-497-0017 or visit the Web site houseforacure.com.
