Collier, Johnson tee off at Trump
Spain Park golfers Michael Johnson and Hannah Collier both finished the first round of stroke play at the U.S. Junior Amateur Championships on Monday tied at No. 93 for their respective tournament at Trump National in New Jersey.
Collier shot a seven-over par, 79, to finish the first round 12 strokes behind Eryne Lee of Silverdale, Wash. Johnson shot 76 in the boys’ tournament, which was 10 strokes behind Columbia native Juan Luna’s 66.
The second round of stroke play was Tuesday, but results were not available at press time. The top 64 golfers will enter match play on Wednesday. Two rounds of match play will be played Thursday, with the quarterfinals and semifinals Friday and finals on Saturday.
