Funeral service for Gary O. “Jake” Winslett, age 62, of Columbiana, will be
at 11:00 PM, Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at Bolton Funeral Home with Rev.
Johnny Sims officiating. Burial will follow at Wilsonville City Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Bolton Funeral Home.
Mr. Winslett, who passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2009, at his home, was
born on Dec. 8, 1946 in Montgomery. He was a graduate of Shelby County High
School and was employed by Birmingham Fastener. He was preceded in death by
his parents, Carey and Verna Winslett.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; brother, Mark (Debbie); and a niece and
nephew, Allison and Gary Winslett of Chelsea. He was especially close to his
hunting buddy and brother-in-law, David Watkins. He leaves behind many
beloved friends and co-workers.
