Curtis Alvin King, age 77, of Alabaster died Tuesday, July 28, 2009.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Pluma King; his father, Vaughn King; and a sister, Charlene Pickett.
Survivors include Mr. King’s wife, Ella Ree Hatfield King; three sons, Curtis A. King Jr., Kevin King, and Christopher V. King; five daughters, Mary Waples, Beverly Colligan, Donna Fuller, Kimberly Marlow, and Tonya Vargas; 21 grandchildren, Jennifer Myrick, Jeff Colligan, Kate Allen, Jeri Colligan, Matthew King, Jonathan King, Rebecca King, Patrick King, Victoria King, Stephen Fuller, Megan Fuller, Christy King, Christopher Ryan King, Mikayla Lynn King, Dylan King, Allen King, Ashley King, Eyce King, Timothy Emons, Austin Emons, and Emily Emons; 10 great-grandchildren, Lauren Myrick, Sarah Myrick, Leah Colligan, Blake Colligan, Kyler Allen, Ayden Allen, Joshua Smith, Tyler Cash, Reese Moody, and Ramsie Moody; four brothers, Eugene King, Johnny King, Jack King, and Bobby King; and one sister, Dorothy Molton.
The funeral service was at 3 p.m. Friday, July 31, 2009, in the chapel of Ridout’s Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham. Burial followed in Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham.
