Montevallo mayor endorses Ward for Senate
Montevallo Mayor Ben McCrory on Thursday endorsed State Rep. Cam Ward (R-Alabaster) for the 2010 Alabama Senate race.
“Cam Ward has clearly demonstrated that he is a public servant who gets results for his district,” McCrory said in a news release. “Our next senator must combine experience with fiscal and ethical accountability, and no one is better suited for that task than Cam Ward.”
Ward expressed his gratitude for the endorsement, saying, “Mayor McCrory has been an outstanding leader in Montevallo, and I look forward to working with him and representing his community in the Alabama Senate.”
Ward, who now represents District 49, is seeking the senate seat currently held by Hank Erwin (R-Montevallo). Erwin has announced his candidacy for Alabama lieutenant governor.
