In loving memory, Willard Wayne Ray, 73 made his final journey through this life to go home to be with the Lord Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2009.
Willard who retired from Alabama Power in February 1996 served for 40 years and eight months, a company with employees which he dearly loved.
He is survived by his loving wife Mildred of 53 years of matrimony; children, Cynthia R Salser (Bruce), Karen R. Henderson (Chuck) Jerry W Ray (Pam) and Darrell A Ray.
Our father has been truly blessed and is survived by four wonderful grandchildren and one great-grandchild, Andrew R. Salser, Jill S. Morton (Darren), Jeremy W. Ray, Christa L. Ray, Jacob L. Henderson, and Peyton N. Morton.
Lastly, our beloved father, husband, grandfather and friend is also survived by four sisters, Ola Dean Coleman (Kelley), Jo R Farr (Larry), Judy R Davis (Jerry), and Carolyn R Dennis.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Olice D. and Elzie Ray; one sister, Marie R Black; and one nephew, Randy T Coleman.
Our precious father touched the lives of so many individuals of whom he loved over the years of his life.
He is survived by many countless family members, close friends and work colleagues.
Visitation was held Friday, Aug. 7, 2009 at Liberty Baptist Church in Chelsea from 6-8 pm.
Funeral services were at Liberty Baptist Church Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009 at 2 p.m. Burial followed at Pine Lawn Cemetery in Columbiana.
