Spain Park High School sophomore pitcher/outfielder Colton Freeman has been named a 2010 pre-season Under Armour baseball All-American.
Freeman was one of approximately 200 high school players chosen out of 15,000 prospects to participate in a 20-team wood bat tournament in January. The exact date for the three-day tournament is to be determined.
Freeman, who transferred to Spain Park from Briarwood Christian School over the summer, will travel to the Kino Sports Complex in Tuscon, Ariz., for the tournament. The Kino Sports Complex is the spring training home for Major League Baseball’s Arizona Diamondbacks and Chicago White Sox.
The 2010 Under Armour pre-season All-America tournament will feature the top high school players in the nation in a tournament. Teams will be broken up by region to compete for the Under Armour pre-season All-America tournament championship. Additionally, players will rotate amongst stations that include pro-style workouts, video and instruction.
