Calera quarterback Brandon Wells completed an 8-yard touchdown to Jeremy Hyde for a touchdown in the fourth quarter, but it was the only highlight for the Eagles in a 48-7 loss on the road at Bibb County Friday night.

Bibb County running back Jaquail Rutledge rushed for 265 yards and four touchdowns on 27 carries to lead the Choctaws to victory.

Wells completed 15-of-29 passes for 138 yards and a touchdown in the loss. Hyde finished with six catches for 69 yards. Bibb County limited the Eagles to 93 rushing yards on 24 attempts.

Adam Winterbottom led the Calera defense with six tackles. The Eagles (3-1, 2-1 in Class 4A, Region 3) travel to rival Shelby County in a non-region game Friday.
