Evangel Christian defeats Kemper Academy

Evangel Christian defeated Kemper Academy of DeKalb, Miss., 44-12 Friday night behind five touchdowns by Hunter Burridge.
Evangel took the opening drive and capped it off with a 28-yard touchdown run by Burridge. Burridge returned a punt 49 yards for the second touchdown of the game with 6:50 left in the first quarter. The two-point conversion was completed to Auston Sullivan.
Burridge ran for another touchdown that was called back due to an Evangel penalty in the second quarter. Jakan Sylestine ran 36 yards for the a touchdown and Luke Miller ran for the two-point conversion with 4:51 left in the first half. Burridge ran for a 9-yard touchdown to end the scoring in the first half.
Jakan Sylestine completed a 50-yard touchdown pass to Hunter Burridge early in the third quarter. Burridge ran for 50 yards for the last Evangel touchdown of the evening.
Key defensive players were Hayden Brown with 14 tackles, Ben Taube with 10, and Josh Flanders with 10 and a sack. Michael Entrekin finished with nine tackles, a blocked punt and an interception. The defense held Kemper Academy to only 117 total yards
