Calera regroups for a 35-18 win over Greensboro

Jeremy Hyde caught two touchdown passes from quarterback Brandon Wells as Calera put a two-game losing streak in the past with a 35-18 win Friday night over Greensboro at Ricky Cairns Stadium.

Wells completed 10-of-16 passes for 257 yards and three touchdowns with one interception in the win.

The Eagles opened the scoring with a 51-yard touchdown pass from Wells to Hyde in the first quarter and Nathan Langner added the extra point to give Calera a 7-0 lead. The Eagles scored twice in the second quarter to take a 21-12 lead at halftime. Ronnie Clark caught a 39-yard touchdown pass from Wells and Eugene Rodgers rushed for a 6-yard touchdown in the second quarter.

Following a Greensboro touchdown early in the fourth quarter, Hyde caught a 40-yard touchdown pass from Wells. Wells also rushed for a 15-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to cap the scoring in the game.

Calera (4-2, 3-1 in Class 4A, Region 3) racked up 449 yards in total offense in the win.
