Evangel Christian School rebounded from its first loss of the season with a 35-6 win over Resurrection Catholic of Mississippi on Oct. 9.

Jakan Sylestine threw three touchdown passes in the win, including two to Stephen Davis in the first half as the Lightning rebounded after a Resurrection touchdown and jumped out to a 16-6 lead at halftime.

Sylestine added another touchdown pass to Aaron Walker and Michael Entrekin and Josh Flanders scored rushing touchdowns in the second half to cap the scoring for Evangel.

The Lightning (6-1) have an open date Oct. 16 before hosting Evangel Family of Montgomery in a homecoming game Oct. 23.
