Dear Editor,

Recently, some 125 people from 60 counties across Alabama came to the Pelham Civic Complex for a half-day to see how they can help me become the next governor of Alabama.

We started at 10 a.m. with a series of briefings on campaign strategy, message and how to build our grassroots network in every county, city and town in Alabama. We outlined specifically our marching orders for regional and county leaders, from how to recruit, scheduling and getting out the vote. At this point, our major focus is on recruiting and training.

Already, we’re putting up signs along highways and major thoroughfares across the state. We also have begun distributing yard signs.

Right now, we have every hope of building the largest grassroots network in the 2010 gubernatorial race. Our people are ready, and our message of common sense is on target, especially in these difficult times.

With this foundation and strong message, we plan to schedule a series of regional meetings to further develop our base.
