Creek View celebrated Parenting Day Oct. 21. The school offset its date to allow for parents with more than one child to attend the special day at other schools.
Creek View offered sessions presented by staff and community members. Presentors included Rick Swing, executive pastor of ministries at Westwood Baptist Church who spoke on “Who is the Parent;” Wendy McGrath, who spoke on ADHD; Kim Bice, a reading coach at CVES; and a course on internet safety presented by Faith Pack.
Parents could also shop as local vendors JAllen’s Gifts, Handbag Houston, Tastefully Simple, Pampered Chef, Southern Living at Home, Mary Kay, Thirty-One, Party Lites, Inviting you Designs, Park Lane Jewelry, Tonya Hooie Photography and Monogramming and Dawn’s Creations, with a percentage going to the Autism Society.
Watchful Warriors, school ambassadors, greeted parents and escorted them to their selected sessions.
They serve throughout the school year at special events.
There were displays for parents to view from the special areas at Creek View such as Art, Music, ESL, the counseling program, and the PE department who had a video of students demonstrating skills and games.
