Local dentist offers cash for candy

One area dentist is redefining the phrase “put your money where your mouth is.” This Halloween, trick-or-treaters can bring their excess candy to Dr. Lisa Wilson’s office in Indian Springs and receive $1 per pound. Wilson is participating in an anti-decay movement by giving away money and other prizes in exchange for candy.

“Ditch the candy, that is what we are saying. Seeing your dentist twice a year and brushing daily are great ways to keeping your teeth healthy, but doing away with excess sweets altogether would really give your teeth a healthy boost,” Wilson said. “Kids can still have fun trick-or-treating, and now their piggy banks will benefit, too.”

Candy will be collected at Wilson’s office the day after Halloween, Sunday, November 1st from 2-4 p.m. and on Monday, November 2nd from 3:30-5:00 p.m. The candy must be unopened. It will then be shipped to troops overseas.

The office is located at 5470 Caldwell Mill Road in Indian Springs.
