Phillips named YMCA chief justice

Darlene Alexandra Phillips, daughter of Cpt. Kenneth L. Phillips and Daphne Pace-Phillips of Greystone, was recently elected the 2010 Chief Justice of the State of Alabama YMCA Youth in Government, Youth Judicial Program held Nov. 14–16.

Phillips received numerous accolades for portraying exemplary judicial decorum, fairness and professionalism, while presiding as a courtroom judge during the three–day program. Phillips is a junior at Spain Park High School, where she is also a Law Academy member, junior class representative, and a member of the debate and volleyball teams.

Phillips is the first Spain Park student to receive this honor. She aspires to become a corporate attorney and attend Harvard Law School.
