Alabaster man arrested on child porn charges
An Alabaster man posted a $75,000 bond Dec. 18 after he was arrested by the Alabaster Police Department and charged with one count of possession of child pornography.
Police arrested John Anderson Douglas III Dec. 10 after investigators “received information from a previous employer about the possible possession of child pornography,” according to Alabaster Police Department Deputy Chief Curtis Rigney.
“After investigating it, we executed a search warrant, and took possession of items in his home, including a computer,” Rigney said. “Right now, the investigation is still ongoing, and they are still researching the computer.”
Police charged the man with one count of possession of obscene material containing a visual depiction of persons under 17 years of age involved in obscene acts. As of Dec. 21, the case was still under investigation by the Alabaster Police Department.
