The Shelby County Property Tax Commissioner’s office will be closed Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.

County Property Tax Commissioner Don Armstrong urged property owners who need to pay their taxes to either visit the tax office in Columbiana by Dec. 30, pay online at Shelbycountyalabama.com or postmark payment before Dec. 31.

The property tax office is located at 102 Depot St. in Columbiana, and residents can mail their property tax payments to P.O. Box 1269, Columbiana, Ala., 35051.

To pay online, visit Shelbycountyalabama.com and click on the “property tax commissioner” link on the left side of the site.

The office will have a payment drop box on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1, but payments dropped off at the office those days will not be processed until after the new year, Armstrong said.
