John Charlton Powers, age 62 of Sterrett passed away Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009.
Mr. Powers pastored at Happy Home Baptist Church, Cook Springs Baptist Church and Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Mr. Powers served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife, Deloras Powers, sons, Mike Powers (Linda), Scott Powers (Susan), siblings, Nancy Rich (Harold), Thomas Powers, Margie Archer (Leon), Steve Powers (Wanda), grandchildren, Audrey Powers, Thomas Powers, Cameron Powers and Caleb Powers.
The family received friends from 6-9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 1, 2010, at Kilgroe Funeral Home in Leeds. Funeral Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, at Beulah Baptist Church with burial at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery in Sterrett.
