Not everyone can afford satellite/cable

Dear Editor,

I have been reading a lot about this lately and I am really upset not only for myself but others. Because of the down economy, the local TV companies have lost up to 50 percent of their revenue. Now, there are articles and TV ads letting us know they are probably going to stop free antenna TV within the next few years.

I am very upset as I cannot afford pay TV and I know that there are thousands of other people who can’t either. What will we do for news and weather information? There are many people who have lost one or two jobs per household and have cut out extra expenses such as cable/satellite.

I understand that there are money problems for companies but there are also money problems for people.

If we only have pay TV, cable companies will just raise their prices because they will have a monopoly. Please write your congressmen and let them know that free antenna TV is a necessity for many households.
