Funeral service for Alonza Leipold Wade, age 77, of Calera, was held Friday, Jan. 8, 2010, at 1 p.m. at Rockco Funeral Home in Montevallo. Burial followed in Shelby Memory Gardens. Visitation was held Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010 from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Wade, who passed away Jan. 5, 2010, in Alabaster, was retired from Blue Circle Cement Plant after 33 years of service. He was a dedicated family man and a hard worker. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
Wade is survived by his wife of 54 years, Nelvin Wade; children, Brenda (Danny) Zimmerman, Robert Wade, Sharon Wade, Janelle (Curtis) McGriff and Bryant (Regina) Wade; three sisters, one brother, 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
