Thompson High School students and basketball fans will get a chance to support their team while raising money for Haiti Jan. 29.

The school’s Key Club and Student Government Association is sponsoring a Have a Heart for Haiti faculty vs. student basketball game during seventh period.

To attend the game, students must purchase a $2 heart to benefit the victims of the Jan. 12 earthquake in southern Haiti.

After the student-faculty basketball game, Key Club and SGA volunteers will continue to sell the hearts during the school’s girls and boys home basketball games against Mountain Brook High School. The girls will tip off at 6 p.m., and the boys will begin playing at 7:30 p.m.

The groups will also be selling $5 T-shirts during the basketball games. All money raised through the Heart for Haiti campaign will be donated to the American Red Cross’ Haiti relief fund.
