AISA schools head to region tournaments Feb. 4-6

Shelby County schools in the Alabama Independent Schools Association head to region tournaments Feb. 4-6.
The Cornerstone Christian School boys’ and girls’ basketball teams each earned the top seed in the AISA Class 1A, Region 1 tournament at Southern Union Community College in Wadley. Both teams earned a bye in quarterfinal action.
The Cornerstone boys will meet the winner of Coosa Valley Academy and Lighthouse Christian in a semifinal matchup Feb. 5 at 7:30 p.m. The Cornerstone girls will face the winner of Ashford Academy and Chambers Academy at 6 p.m. Feb. 5.
The Coosa Valley Academy boys will face Lighthouse in a quarterfinal matchup Feb. 4 at 1:30 p.m. The Coosa Valley Academy girls will meet South Montgomery Academy in a quarterfinal matchup Feb. 4 at 3 p.m.
The Kingwood Christian School boys will take on Bessemer Academy at 1 p.m. in the quarterfinal round of the AISA Class 3A, Region 2 tournament at Alabama Southern Community College in Monroeville. The Kingwood girls will face Morgan Academy in a quarterfinal matchup Feb. 4 at 11:40 a.m.
All semifinal games are scheduled for Feb. 5 with championship games slated for Feb. 6.
