Animal clinic burglar arrested, charged

A burglar who stole money and drugs from a Shelby County animal clinic has been arrested, according to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.

Edward Day Bradley IV, 22, of Birmingham was charged with one count of first-degree robbery, one count of first-degree forgery, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and illegal possession of prescription drugs.

According to the sheriff’s department, Bradley was burglarizing the Cahaba Valley Animal Clinic around noon Feb. 28 when he was surprised by an employee. Bradley produced a weapon and threatened the employee, then left with some cash and prescription drugs. The employee was unharmed.

At 12:55 p.m. that day, Hoover police officers located Bradley in the parking lot of the CVS Pharmacy at the corner of U.S. 280 and Valleydale Road. He was taken into custody without incident. Evidence of the incident was found in his vehicle.

Bradley is being held in the Shelby County Jail on bonds totaling $108,000.
