Three teams sweep baseball doubleheaders

Three Shelby County baseball teams swept doubleheaders in high school baseball action March 6.
Pelham 10-7, Gardendale 0-0
Andrew Bishop led the Panthers (13-2) at the plate as he went 2-for-2 with a home run, a double and three RBIs in the Pelham’s 10-0 win in the opener.
Tripp Martin also homered and droe in three runs. Micheal Herring finished 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs.
Parker Curry finished 2-for-3 with a double in the Panthers’ 7-0 shutout in the nightcap. Herring finished 2-for-3 with a homer and drove in four runs.
Spain Park 9, Tuscaloosa County 7
Aaron Haag led the Jaguars (11-4) at the plate as he went 3-for-3 with a grand slam, four RBIs and two runs scored.
Mikey White also homered and drove in three runs. Chris Ellis also had a hit in the win.
Spain Park 10, Clay-Chalkville 6
Aaron Haag finished 3-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs. Charlie McPherson finished 2-for-4, drove in four runs and scored twice.
Carter White had two hits. Mikey White, Ellis and Colton Freeman finished with one hit each.
Oak Mountain 8-16, Pinson Valley 0-6
Cary Baxter and Davis Dudchock led the Eagles (6-8) with two RBIs each in Oak Mountain’s 8-0 win in the opener. Hayden Wambles fired a six-inning shutout and struck out seven batters to earn the win.
Dudchock led Oak Mountain had three hits and drove in four runs in the nightcap. Baxter had a solo homer.
