Graveside service for J.T. Boykin, Jr., age 61, of Shelby, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at Spring Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12-2 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Shelby. The family is requesting in J.T.’s memory that you dress casually for this service.
Mr. Boykin, who passed away Monday, March 15, 2010, at a local hospital, was born July 22, 1948, in Shelby County.
He is preceded in death by his parents, J.T. (Bozo) and Florence (Mama Bo) Boykin.
J.T. was the owner of Bozo’s Fish Camp on Lay Lake. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church where he contributed to the Children’s Home Mission. J.T. was a honorary member of the Masonic Lodge and served his country in the Vietnam War. He loved sharing life, laughter and love with his family and many friends.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy Bell Boykin; children, Bo (Rachel) Boykin, Matthew Boykin; sister, Patricia (Bob) Cox; niece, Hope Bell, whom J.T. considered a daughter, as well as a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
