A pair of Pelham seniors helped lead the Panthers’ girls’ golf team to a 216-242 victory March 24 over cross-town rival Thompson at Ballantrae.
Ana Amoruso of Pelham shot a season-low 52 and Kelsey Bodiford shot a 55. Sophomore Alyssa Bird had the second-lowest round with a 54.
“It’s only her second year, but she’s really come a long way in two years,” Pelham head coach Scott Blair said of Amoruso. “I’m proud of the way the seniors played today, and Alyssa hit the driver better than anybody all day.”
Thompson’s Amanda White had the low round of the match with a 41.
“She’s really pumped up her focus,” Thompson head coach Chuck Nelson said of White. “Amanda has come light years and is showing signs of being a great golf player.”
