Officials confirm tornado near Alabaster-Maylene area
National Weather Service officials have confirmed a tornado touched down in the Fox Valley area near Maylene and Alabaster.
An official with the NWS in Calera confirmed an EF-1 tornado with winds approximately 95 mph touched down March 25 around 7:10 p.m., uprooting trees and producing minimal damage to an apartment complex and a few homes.
The tornado stayed on the ground for approximately 2.5 miles.
Another EF-1 tornado was also confirmed in Chilton County with 95 mph winds. That storm also uprooted several trees and produced minimal damage to several homes.
