Deputies arrest Columbiana pair on drug charges

Two Columbiana suspects are being held in the Shelby County Jail on nearly $2 million in bonds after they were arrested on drug charges March 23-24.
Members of the Shelby County Drug Enforcement Task Force arrested 45-year-old Dennis Wayne Robinson on March 23 and 38-year-old Kelly Louise Walton on March 24.
The arrests came after a several-month task force investigation of the illegal sale of cocaine, crack cocaine and prescription pills. The investigation led task force members to a residence in the 2000 block of Egg and Butter Road, where the two suspects were arrested.
While searching the residence, law enforcement officials discovered firearms, cash and illegal narcotics.
Robinson was charged with trafficking drugs, three counts of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, receiving or possession of stolen property, unlawful possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and six counts of cruelty to animals.
As of March 30, Robinson remained in the Shelby County Jail on a $1.7 million bond.
Walton was charged with trafficking drugs, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, receiving or possession of stolen property, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of marijuana.
As of March 30, she remained in the Shelby County Jail on a $282,000 bond.
