Two men were pronounced dead April 11 after their vehicle struck a tree in the 4900 block of South Shades Crest Road.

The wreck happened at about 6 p.m. when a vehicle containing 21-year-old McCalla resident Jonnathon Brown and 24-year-old Bessemer resident Roy William Fisher III lost control and struck a tree.

Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene. As of April 12, the Shelby County Traffic Homicide Task Force was investigating the cause of the wreck.
