Shelby County freshman qualifies for state meet
Shelby County High School freshman Jacqueline Head qualified for the Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 5A state track and field meet following a section meet Monday at Beauregard High School in Opelika.
Head qualified in three individual events. Head finished second in both the 1,600-meter run and 3,200-meter run. Head finished the 1,600-meter run with a time of 5:40 and completed the 3,200-meter run with a time of 12:14.
Head came in fourth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:35.
