Dear Editor,

Thank you Mayor Petelos, for stepping up to the plate and moving the elevated 280 roadway plan forward. We have lived here for over twenty years and have only seen the situation continually deteriorate.

This congestion does not help any of us, even the business owners. If everyone realized the hazards of transporting a family member, friend or employee to a hospital in a life or death situation, this would have been escalated long ago.

I wonder if Mountain Brook or Homewood even stopped to realize that this will also promote those living out of town to venture to their cities to shop at the specialty stores. We look forward to seeing other responsible Mayors follow your lead in passing a resolution to proceed with ALDOT.
