Sullivan appointed to post

The Alabama Minority Business Opportunity Center recently appointed Mel Ann Sullivan, director of Marketing and Communications of First United Security Bank, to serve on its Advisory Committee.

The Alabama Minority Business Opportunity Center is a not-for-profit Center funded by the U.S. Department of Commerce, Minority Business Development Agency. It provides procurement assistance for certified ethnic minority business enterprises, as well as assist them in the location of financing opportunities and job creation. The Alabama MBOC is operated by South Region Minority Supplier Development Council and is located in Birmingham.

“I consider it a privilege to serve, and represent the bank in this way,” Sullivan said. “We want to do everything we can to extend a hand in our communities and the state to offer expertise and effort to commercial and small business leaders and owners. First United Security Bank is committed into the future to serve the minority business community. ”

“Sullivan’s banking experience and years of community involvement will serve her well in this position,” said Alton McRee, director of Community Lending for First United Security Bank.
