Northern Shelby County residents will get a chance to walk around the clock while battling cancer June 11 at Pelham High School.

The American Cancer Society will hold its Relay for Life of North Shelby, which will begin at 6 p.m. at the PHS track.

During the event, participants will circle the track from 6 p.m. June 11 to 6 a.m. June 12 while they “celebrate anyone who has battled cancer, remember loved ones lost and empower all to fight back against the disease,” according to a Cancer Society press release.

Highlights of the event will be the first lap at 6 p.m., which will feature cancer survivors, and a Luminaria at 10 p.m., which will be held for anyone who has ever been affected by cancer.

The event will feature live local bands and games throughout the 12-hour walk. For more information about the event, visit Relayforlife.org/northshelby, or call 918-3212.
