Easter Seals raised more than $113,000 at the 8th-Annual Swinging For Solutions golf tournament sponsored by Tuscaloosa Toyota.

All money raised from this year’s tournament goes toward providing services to children and adults with disabilities throughout Shelby, Jefferson, Blount, Walker and St. Clair counties.

“The continued success of this tournament has helped us raise more than $529,000 over the past eight years, including the $113,000 that was raised at this year’s tournament,” said Mike Murphy, board chair for Easter Seals of the Birmingham Area. “This tournament is one that the corporate community of Birmingham has come to know and return to each year. We are so grateful for their continued support in helping us change the lives of adults and children with disabilities.”

Golfers enjoyed a day at Greystone Country Club where lunch was provided on the course by Texas Roadhouse in Pelham. After the tournament, guests had the opportunity to bid on more than 40 live and silent auction items that raised more than $25,000 for Easter Seals of the Birmingham Area.
