Fire damaged a residence and a pair of vehicles June 15 on Shelby County 10 in Montevallo.
The fire began at about 9:20 p.m. June 15 in the 1300 block of Shelby County 10, which is a few miles west of downtown Montevallo.
The blaze damaged the one-story house, a 2008 Mazda 6, an aluminum boat and trailer and an aluminum shed. The two vehicles and shed were worth about $47,000, according to a Montevallo Police Department press release.
The Montevallo Fire Department extinguished the blaze before it destroyed the house, and Montevallo Police Department officials said they do not suspect the fire was the result of criminal activity.
“There appears to be nothing shady about it,” said Montevallo Police Chief Steve Holt.
