Herman Donald “Doc” Mims, age 74, or Alabaster, AL, passed away on July 7, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Alice Inez Mims; 4 children, Don Mims (Kathryn), Donna Blakenship (Paul), Doug Mims (lisa) and Lonnie Mims (Laura); 7 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Doc was well-respected in the printing business for his entire career. He was a member of Kingwood Assembly of God.

Funeral services will be held on July 9, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Southern Heritage Funeral Home, with visitation beginning at 12:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Southern Heritage Cemetery.
