Reporter launching new websites

Those who visit ShelbyCountyReporter.com and AlabasterReporter.com for local news will find fresh websites.

Shelby County Newspapers President and Publisher Tim Prince said the company relaunched those two websites Aug. 10 to take advantage of ever-changing Internet technology, which will allow readers to have a better website experience.

“ShelbyCountyReporter.com was recently named the state’s best community website, and the site that debuts today builds upon its strong foundation,” Prince said. “Digital storytelling is constantly evolving, so launching a new site that takes full advantage of advances made in the last two years was critically important to us and our customers.”

Readers should have faster load speeds and find it easier to navigate around the new sites. Comment functions should also be improved.

“Anything we can do to improve user experience on our website is something we’ll consider, and we do so constantly,” Prince said.

Users on the old website will have to re-register in order to leave comments on the new ShelbyCountyReporter.com and AlabasterReporter.com.
