Mr. Andrew Jackson (Jack) Lacey, a resident of Tallassee, born Jan. 16, 1933 in Maylene, passed away Friday, Aug. 13, 2010, in Tallassee.

Funeral services were Monday, Aug. 16, at 10 a.m. from St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Father Francis Lynch officiating. Graveside Services will also be Monday at 2:00p.m. from Alabama Heritage Cemetery, Montgomery, Jeffcoat Funeral Home directing.  The family received friends on Sunday, Aug. 15, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Jeffcoat Funeral Home.

Mr. Lacey was the father of three children and the proud grandfather of six grandchildren which include daughters, Virginia Murrane (Tim) and Mary Lacey; son, Andy Lacey (Carolyn) and grandchildren, Pfc. Joseph Murrane, Matthew Murrane, Abby Murrane, Stanley Lacey, Katie Lacey and Maggie Lacey.  He is also survived by sisters, Agnes Harris (Bunk) and Margaret Kerlin (Reggie) and numerous sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. Lacey is preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Mrs. Myra Lacey; father and mother, Robert and Kate Lacey and brothers, Bobby, Stanley and Phillip Lacey. He loved his God, family and country.  He also was a longtime dairy farmer and five times awarded Alabama’s Master Dairyman Award. Loved and respected, Mr. Lacey was carried to his final resting place by Mike Mahan, Phillip Hubbard, George Harris, Stanley Lacey, Matthew Murrane and Pfc. Joseph Murrane. Honorary pallbearers were Tommy Baker, Tommy Rodgers and all the staff of Tallassee Health and Rehab.   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Boy Scouts of America or to the Wounded Warrior Project (Woundedwarriorproject.org).
