Esther Kate New, age 65, a resident of Columbiana, passed away on Monday, Aug. 9, 2010 at her home. Chapel service were held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2010 at Bolton Funeral Home, Columbiana. Burial followed at Hubbard Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2010, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

‘Katie,’ the baby girl of 11 children, is rejoicing in Heaven with many of her loved ones gone ahead of her. Katie, though she had to endure a long illness, met these obstacles with her usual spunk and tenacity. Mrs. New is survived by her husband, Dale New; daughters, DeLona Glenn (Craig), Tammy New Blackerby; brother, Duke Percy Alexander (Denise); grandchildren, Tiffany Glenn Miller (Brian), Jonathon Glenn, Austin Glenn, Rayne Glenn, Rachel Blackerby, Daniel Blackerby; great grandchildren, Zane Miller, Hunter Miller, Noah Miller and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
