The Pelham High School volleyball team dropped its first two matches in the 2010 Juanita Boddie tournament Aug. 20 at Hewitt-Trussville High School.

The Panthers (0-3) fell to Vestavia Hills in their opening match, 12-25, 25-10, 15-17.

Ashley Kate Kepler led Pelham with nine kills. Kepler also recorded two blocks.

Sydney Days finished with 15 assists and a team-high four service aces. Julie Bui added 14 digs.

Pelham dropped its second match of the day with a 25-12, 27-25 loss to Grissom.

Porsha Tolbert led the Panthers with nine kills.

Bui recorded eight digs. Days finished with 20 assists and two service aces.

Pelham continues pool play in the Juanita Boddie tournament Aug. 21.
