Dear Editor,

On one of the hottest days in July the Fourmile Community really turned out to support the yard sale to raise money for the Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department. The sale was also a social event re-enforcing the fire department’s philosophy, “neighbors helping neighbors.” Money was raised to equal the dues of 23 households.

We are still hoping that the 700 households who have thus far not participated will come forward as good citizens and support this all-volunteer fire and rescue department.

As chairman, I want to thank all of you who worked so hard to make the sale such a successful community event.
