The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office has charged a Westover resident with murdering his father on Aug. 28.

After receiving a domestic disturbance call at 8:23 p.m. Aug. 28, Sheriff’s deputies found Westover resident Myles David Reid, 54, dead at a residence in the 900 block of Shelby County 438 at 8:30 p.m.

Reid’s son, Myles David Reid Jr., was taken into custody from the scene for questioning.

Reid Jr. has now been formally charged with murder and is in the Shelby County Jail on $50,000 bond.
