Paws for the Cause set to bark again
HOOVER — Animal lovers have an event to look forward to, as the second-annual Paws for the Cause 5K run is set for Sept. 11 at Hoover’s Veterans Park.
The event will also include a fun run and a pet walk, where pet owners are encouraged to bring their furry friends to walk. The 5K run begins at 8 a.m., and the fun run and pet walk begins at 9:15 a.m.
Paws for the Cause will benefit the Shelby County Humane Society. To enter the 5K run/walk, the cost is $25. To enter the one-mile fun run and pet walk, the cost is $15.
To register, visit Shelbypaws4thecause.com. Early registrants will also receive a race shirt.
Participants can also register the morning of the event from 6:30-7:45 a.m. For registration that morning, the 5K run/walk will cost $30, while the fun run and pet walk will cost $20.
Veterans Park is located at 4750 Valleydale Road in Hoover.
