COLUMBIANA — Columbiana Fire & Rescue responded to 355 Egg and Butter Road at approximately 1:20 p.m. Sept. 16 to find a home workshop in flames.
The workshop sits directly behind the home of William Eaves and is not attached to the house.
Eaves was grinding wood in the workshop earlier that day, said Sherry Hall, Eaves’ daughter. Eaves and his wife were in the house when they heard the crackling of the fire coming from the workshop.
The workshop was destroyed, but the house was not damaged.
Columbiana Fire & Rescue received assistance from Wilsonville and Shelby in putting the fire out.
According to authorities, the cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
