High school volleyball roundup: Pelham edges Parkway Christian

The Pelham High School volleyball team edged visiting Parkway Christian School in high school volleyball action Sept. 20.

Dana Allen led the Panthers with 14 kills in Pelham’s 25-22, 11-25, 26-24, 19-25, 18-16 win over Parkway Christian.

Alexis Veal recorded a team-high 25 digs for Pelham, which improved to 19-13 overall.

Porsha Tolbert added 22 digs. Sydney Days finished with a team-high 22 assists and three blocks.

Indian Springs splits a pair of matches

Indian Springs School split a pair of matches with Shelby County and Chilton County.

Andrea Mayo led Indian Springs with eight kills and nine digs in a 25-21, 17-25, 15-6 win over Shelby County.

Lauren Plouff recorded a team-high 10 assists to go along with four digs.

Mayo recorded six kills and 17 digs in a 23-25, 25-23, 12-15 loss to Chilton County.

Plouff added a team-high 15 assists and six digs.

Kingwood sweeps Tuscaloosa Academy

Shelby Cingornelli led the Lions with seven kills in Kingwood’s 25-23, 25-16, 25-21 sweep of Tuscaloosa Academy.

Blair Holsombeck added five service aces and three digs for Kingwood, which improved to 13-6 overall and 5-1 in AISA Class 2A, Region 2.

Karley Chamblee recorded a team-high 15 assists and three service aces.
