JROTC members get promotions
On Aug. 24, Vincent High School’s JROTC upperclassmen had their initial fall promotions as 53 cadets were promoted and presented with various awards. Cadets Brandon Franklin, Deidra Franklin, Derek Brasher, Tyresha Johnson and Nikki Sampson were promoted to the rank of private first class. The rank of corporal was awarded to cadets Ben Alexander, Anna Courington, Damauntey Johnson, Matthew Loggins, Shacorry Lilly, Delvin Taylor and Cody Tressillian. Cadets Zack Aldritt, Ben Alexander, Letha Burns, Skyler Castleberry, JaMichael Chapman, Tiffany Ellis, Devin Harris, Brooklyn Jones, Jessica Macon, Nick Robertson, Katlyn Smith and Jared Spates received the rank of sergeant. Cadet Raegan Whitfield was ranked staff sergeant. The rank of sergeant first class was awarded to cadets Joleen George, Courtney Hale, Courtney Holston and Brittany Powell. Cadet Austin Davis received the rank of master sergeant. Cadets Bria Burns, Amanda Threatt and Rusty Couch were awarded the rank of first sergeant. The rank of second lieutenant was awarded to cadets Ashton Caddell, Jessica Gallups, Sarah Phillips, Morgan Gay, Kayla Greene, Kyle Wells, Keri Shaw and Sinthia Walker. Cadets Michele Brasher, Tylar Threatt and Tanicea Thomas were promoted to the rank of first lieutenant. Cadets Tomisha Franklin, Randee Isbell, Ben McKinney, Judson Moore, Johnathan Slaughter, Raven Chapman and Rachel Johnson were awarded the rank of captain. The rank of major was presented to cadets Savannah Senicz and Jessica Posey.
