The Kingwood Christian School volleyball team dropped an Alabama Independent Schools Association Class 2A, West Region match Oct. 11 against Southern Academy.

Senior Millie Opper led the Lions with seven kills in a 21-25, 26-24, 22-25, 16-25 loss to Southern Academy.

Opper added four service aces and two blocks for the Lions, who fell to 19-14 overall and 6-4 in region matches.

Junior Karley Chamblee added two kills, nine service aces and a team-high 17 assists.

Kaytlin Thorson recorded a team-high 15 digs.

Kingwood plays host to Lee-Scott Academy in a non-region match Oct. 12.
