The Evangel Christian School football team was held scoreless for the first time this season in a 38-0 loss to Freedom Academy in an 8-man football contest Oct. 15.

Hayden Brown led the Lightning with 88 rushing yards on 25 carries. Brandon Mackey added 14 rushing yards on three carries.

Brown completed 4-of-14 passes for 70 yards. Aaron Walker caught two passes for 25 yards. Mackey and Grant Webster caught one pass each.

Michael Entrekin and Walker led the Evangel defense with 12 tackles. Brown recorded seven tackles and Josh Flanders added six tackles.

Evangel (6-4) closes out the regular season Oct. 22 on the road at Heritage Christian School.
